Give a Little Love - Valentine's Day Paper Craft - Pigeon Pal Paper Doll

"They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything." - Bil Keane This little Pigeon Pal was designed to share some love and spread some joy!  Great for teachers to hand out for Valentine's day, great for home, work, or wherever a bit of love is needed.  Feel free to download and use:  Pigeon Pal Paper Doll Craft You will need: • a colour printer • white card stock (standard 8.5 x 11) • scissors • popsicle sticks (optional) • glue • glitter, stickers, or paint, if you wish to embellish this design Instructions:  Print this item on your home printer using white card stock.  Carefully cut out all the images (parental supervision may be required.)  Attach your Pigeon Pal to a popsicle stick, if desired.  Glue hearts together, colours facing outward. Kindness and Caring in the Time of a Polar Vortex

"If the world seems cold to you, kindle fires to warm it." - Lucy Larcom In light of the polar vortex and the increasingly harsh winter weather being reported around the world - it's always nice to take a moment and consider how we might be able to help each other through times such as these. A few helpful tips for looking out for each other and staying safe during unusual circumstances: - Help your neighbors by shoveling and salting walkways, driveways, and other paths that allow for easy accessibility into the home. Eldery folks, single parents, and young people are especially susceptible to needing assistance, don't be afraid to lend a hand.  - Offer to help clear snow and ice off of your neighbor's car. Operating vehicles that can be used safely during a time of emergency are always useful to a community. - Volunteer at a homeless shelter and other programs, such as Meals on Wheels. These services are vital to communities and are often short-staffed

It goes without saying that this world revolves through both darkness and light.  One day to the next, we sometimes find ourselves facing the variety of these shades on a spectrum, balancing humanity with life. In light of these worldly things, those heavenly mechanics of fortune and fate that we find ourselves tangled in, it never hurts to have a little uplifting positivity in our lives. P+ is a space created to do just that - to give back and to share happiness in tiny ways with the community at large. We have all had our hours of darkness. We have all experienced the kindness and generosity of others at some time. It is my turn to make an attempt at returning joy in the most thoughtful and enlightening ways that I can. For now, it might begin as a bit of shared art, an uplifting quote, a cartoon here and there - but I hope, from now and into the future - to return the kindness afforded to me in my darkest hours.
